Question: Are you insured?

Answer: Yes, and incorporated in the state of Wisconsin.


 

Question: Can we check you out before we make our decision, or can we meet with you before hand?

Answer: It is always a good idea to audition a DJ before you hire, but remember the music you hear might be what the DJ needs to play for that crowd, and the music mix for your show might be entirely different. We would be happy to sit down with you and consult one/one before you book us to increase your comfort level. Many clients hire us based on our reputation alone but it's still a good idea to audition first if at all possiblle.


 

Question: Do you have back up equipment or plans in case of equipment failures?

Answer: Because this is a 'once-in-a-life-time' event we build redundancy into our systems- a total failure would be quite rare, but on those occasions a back up system is on stand by so disruptions are kept to a minimum. In only the most extreme situation would we be unable to complete our promises to you.


 

Question: Do you have lights, smoke generators and lasers?

Answer: We do bring some lightning, but to call it a light show would be stretching things a bit. At most weddings, the critical factor is not how much equipment the DJ sets up; rather it is their skill in finding the right mix of music to match the crowd. No one will ever leave an event saying "The DJ was really bad, but the laser light show sure saved the night!" Smoke generators are prohibited in many venues; they are cool, but we are promoting portable music, not portable disco. And with a smaller set up we can be up and running faster and with less intrusion with smaller space requirements, and hopefully keep the price more affordable.

Question: Do you take requests?

Answer: Absolutely...you say it, we play it! Guest Requests are a big part of evey show. Each of our DJs brings along over 6,000 popular songs to play on a moment's request from all musical styles, not just our 'faves'. As part of your event planning you can send us a list of songs ahead of time that are 'must plays' that we will make sure we bring. You can also request us NOT to play certain songs. It's your show- we're just there to help facilitate a good time and keep things moving.


 

Question: How can you guarantee our satisfaction?

Answer: Its simple, we do our homework up front to make sure we understand what your expectations are- 95% of customer satisfaction is simply communicating before and during the event. By asking for your input early in the show we can make any needed adjustments before too much time goes by if the party is not going the way you expected.


 

Question: How much do you charge?

Answer: When people ask how much we charge, tongue in check I tell them we charge by the year, not by the hour; in other words, by expertise! Why take a chance on a cut rate DJ service? Shop around and get quotes but you will find Jock In A Box is an exceptional entertainment value.


 

Question: What is your policy on cancellations?

Answer: Even the best laid plans can change! We will credit your deposit for another show if you rebook a date within 6 months, subject to availability. With less than 4 weeks notice any pre-paid balance is forfeited unless we can rebook your date on short notice. In general, we try to be as flexible as we can- unexpected illness or military deployments can be unavoidable.


 

Question: Who will be my DJ?

Answer: DJs are assigned based on which DJ's style and personality matches your needs. If you have a preference for a certain staff member let us know, we can schedule, but not guarantee that DJ will be at your event.
